Why are products geared towards pc gamers always so unnecessarily obnoxious?

This is the 2000s gamer look. The 2010-20s is all subdued lines, glass side panels and rgb everything.

the vast majority are not that flashy, also stuff like that tends to be stupid expensive.
a lot of gaming devices include rgb, but there are a lot of less flamboyant products available.
for example my high performance mouse doesn't look that different from one you might find in an office. and my keyboard is pretty basic.

I dunno if I'm considered a "real gamer" or not, but I know that this type of stuff is way too gimmicky for me,
