I wonder how many casuals actually exist in gaming? 🤔

Many video games come with difficulty settings ranged from easy to very hard, with a description of how the gameplay experience will be for the player. For casual difficulty, the description is usually something to the effect of “for those who just to play the game for its story”. Now, I’ve met people who aren’t the least bit interested in playing video games but still appreciated them for their compelling stories. I always see the term “casual” applied to those who, as it suggests, only play video games as a casual hobby but aren’t avid gamers. That or it’s used as an insult for people who are bad at games, lol. But are there really casual gamers out there who never play video games for their gameplay and only for their stories? Makes one wonder…

I generally play games that offer an interesting story that's enhanced by the interactivity. Sometimes, I'll enjoy the game play for its own sake, but not often.
