Been To Any Classic Car Shows Lately

I had a great afternoon visiting the Cardiff Classic Car show I haven't included all the cars there however I've put enough pictures to interest all Classic Car Enthusiasts I love old Classics, tell me which one you like.

I love these old cars and used to take an interest myself. But the gap between these cars and the modern vehicles has just become too wide now. They are no longer realistic transport. ABS brakes, airbags and computer controlled stability cannot be ignored, sadly...😷
@Tetsuya Quite so.. But as I told my children when I taught them.. "Its not about how good a driver you are. Its about the other idiot.."😷

@whowasthatmaskedman very true
I taught my eldest on a combination of a 98 Integra automatic with abs traction control etc...
and a 90 Miata manual with none of that
maskedbandit · 61-69, M
@Tetsuya When I was taught, it was all standard. There was nothing automatic. We didn't even have power steering. 😅 👍 🙂

My dad was a car artist. He lived for cars. He loved British cars too and restored several MGs. Since he passed I can’t go to shows, but I will enjoy the sound of cam and the smell of cherry bombs the rest of my life. I may start my own project one day because he taught me a lot. Have fun. Looks like a beautiful day too.

Love the Jaguar and the old Rover.
I noticed the registration plate on the Capri is from about '73.
So if I were born about 8 years earlier reckon I could call myself 'A Classic ? 😄

@Picklebobble2 I suppose you could call yourself a Classic, I have been talking to some of our American cousins they have Classic car shows far more often than us in the UK.

You like the larger cars picking the Jaguar and the Rover.
Picklebobble2 · 61-69, M
@senghenydd We used to do them but I suspect many that we used to call classic are now so old they might be uninsurable.
Especially if they were made in Britain. Our car industry died in the early 80's so even those made then are now in their 40's

@Picklebobble2 I watch that Tv programme Bangers & Cash they sell Classics nearly every month most of them are British and have been restored, I bought one from them many years ago and then took it to a restorer I will leave that story for another time I still own it (It's dry stored).

I'd gladly take one (or better yet both) of those Rolls (from the first two pics)

@Musicman at least 10 years, it's been bounced around the Richmond area because of getting to big for certain venues or kicked out because people don't know how to behave
Musicman · 61-69, M
@Tetsuya I am so sad to hear that. I lived in Northern Virginia for 53 years. I am definitely a car enthusiast and I have never heard of it, but then we did retire and move to Florida 8 years ago.
Tetsuya · 56-60, M
@Musicman I was in the Tampa area for about a year when you moved down
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
A fabulous variety!
Tetsuya · 56-60, M
@samueltyler2 never said it was, they are still both Porsche's, I have enjoyed the marque very much over the years
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Tetsuya not to argue but you did say:
@samueltyler2 I had an 83' Targa a few years ago
Tetsuya · 56-60, M
@samueltyler2 That is correct, but I was not trying to imply it was the same as a 356B
just that I've also owned a Porsche that I enjoyed very much
Do I really need to pick only 1? 😢
@Musicman hahaha agree! And thank you 😊
senghenydd · M
@nothingnessssssssssssss pick as many as you like (they're all great).
@senghenydd they are all awesome! Take more!

It was a great day out, I met people who were all on the same page as myself.

senghenydd · M
@Barny52 We had an old Bedford it was my Grandfather's sadly he had to give up driving and part with his loved old van.
maskedbandit · 61-69, M
I love the Rolls Royce BDN222.
senghenydd · M

No, sadly I haven't been to one in a couple of months. I need to go again. Here are a couple of pictures from my last classic car show.

Musicman · 61-69, M
@senghenydd It is beautiful isn't it. 🙂 The last year and a half have not been good for my wife health wise. I have had to be a caregiver. That is what has mainly kept me at home. Fortunately she is doing much better now so I can start going again.
senghenydd · M
@Musicman With the weather right there's nothing like going to a Classic car show, I'm sure it'll brighten you both up.
Musicman · 61-69, M
@senghenydd I could definitely use some brightening up. ☹️

Ford capri👌
senghenydd · M
@Lilnonames You mean Ford Capri I had a Mark One Escort back in the day, I always thought my Escort was better than a Capri maybe because they were in the rallies.
