Anyone know what this car problem is or how to fix it?

My car won't turn off unless I manually turn off the headlights.

I know it sounds like a small issue but I've owned this car for 8 years and it always just turned off as easily as shutting off the ignition and pulling the key out. But not anymore.

What kind of Car. I had a Ford truck do that. Was a short in the ignition system that kept the ECM powered up which in turn kept the injectors and spark plugs going

The light switch wiring was shorted to the ignition wiring

@DeluxedEdition nope. I can do brake pads and spark plugs and change the light bulbs and windshield wipers and change tires.

That is the extent of my auto mechanical knowledge.
