what is it like being on a cruise ship?

What do you even spend your whole day doing on there?

Do you have any habits?

There seems to be a certain kind of person who likes to go on these boats. I was thinking maybe I should see for myself but I suspect it might not be my cup of tea.

I enjoyed it more than I expected. We took one to Alaska so we could see a lot of great scenery from the boat. And we visited 3 or 4 towns where you could get off the boat and explore during the day, then return in the evening for dinner and an overnight ride to the next port.

There is also entertainment on the boats. Restaurants, bars, concerts, a music club, a casino, etc. but I mostly enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the ocean and the scenery.

@Harmonium1923 Do you get sea sickness? I'm nervous about that. Or that I'll somehow feel trapped on the boat..but that's my anxiety for ya😕 otherwise i Love Being near the ocean

@Coralmist I didn’t have any trouble but I don’t usually anyway. I don’t think it’s usually that big a problem on really large boats like that. I had a couple of family members who brought medicine to be safe but no one had any problems.

Been on them quite a bit. To me they are a floating nursing home. Helps if you go with friends. Ive been on carnival, Disney, and Holland America. Carnival was my least favorite. Disney was the best. H.A.L. is the one we go on most. Best trip was to Alaska from Seattle. Supposedly if you drink tomato juice you can avoid the stomach bugs. Drinks are spendy but the food is good.

Nope. Not for me. I'll never get on a boat on the ocean. Lakes, yes. Ocean, no.
@Tumbleweed my little guy this summer at the age of 5 jumped off the paddleboard wearing his life jacket and said "I'm going to swim back to shore". About 150 meters

@Tumbleweed both my kids are impressive in different ways. Both amazing in the water though

Love them, been on 2 cruises to eastern Caribbean and 2 cruises to western Caribbean simply brilliant, went to Japan this year for a 12 night cruise could not be more happier, going back in April 2025 for another cruise, been on many cruises in the South Pacific Islands and the living conditions were very different but the island people are friendly and welcoming
I would like to try one

It's like an all-inclusive resort but you're on the water and usually wake up in another country/city every day from the same bed.
