KOA, Kamp Grounds of America, says 28.5 million households are expected to go camping Labor Day weekend.

Will you be one of them? Where will you go and what style of camping will you do? Will it just be your family or will you go with friends?

I’d love to get a van like this and take it for weekends away for fishing or whatever. Easy enough to drive and park and comfortable enough for a weekend.

@Stereoguy If I had money I’d like to have one custom built with features I want. This one looks pretty good, but i have seen some with Murphy beds and other great features that would be good.

Nope . But we will be at the farm . I used to let boy scouts camp out there and fish but when they allowed and forced us to accept gay scout masters I shut them out and pulled my son out of scouting . Currently the Boy Scouts are settling an $80M worth of sexual assault lawsuits . Still let the Girl Scouts camp out there.

@Stereoguy It is....about 2 1/2 miles from a little village and within 30 miles of a couple of larger tourist trap type towns. LOL.

That sounds like a great reason to stay home. I'll go when everyone else has something to do. It reminds me of deer hunting season in Wisconsin. Businesses close and the woods are filled with hunters.

Oh hell no, not even around this area. There’s a large lake but everyone who lives around here knows better than to plan a holiday weekend out there…overcrowded and no privacy and not so peaceful with so many people crowded together. Not even to go fishing and come back home in the evening…

@cherokeepatti I know America has many thousands of sites worth seeing. (I only scratched the surface, intending to return).. If there is an up side to covid I suspect that it is a lot more Americans holidayed at home and saw parts of their own country for a change. I am suitably jealous of them since I missed my shot.😷

@whowasthatmaskedman yes and to buy some of these recreational vans or other vehicles you have to order a year or more in advance, that’s how swamped they are for new orders on this type of vehicle. It keeps people from staying in hotels and they can drive around where ever they want.

@cherokeepatti I do like my comforts and had planned to travel by train, crisscrossing. Cant get used to the idea of driving from the glove compartment, let alone the wrong side of the road. The food all over in America was lovely. Shame about the coffee.😷
Will Ron desantis accept me as a working migrant?
I’ll be in lockdown here in Oz 🇦🇺

No, I'll be the one staying back collecting loot from all the empty houses.

(I'm joking.)

I'm working the weekend but the pay is worth it. The wife is going camping so I have the house to myself in the evenings which is still pretty good.

@Stereoguy she will. We live in paradise. Deer, squirrels, maybe bears and a beach thrown in for good measure. And she took enough food to eat better than me.

I've only been camping once in my life, when I was about 8/9, on a week away with my class in school. It was fun but I don't think I'd camp these days.....not at my age...with a husband who snores....😆😆
Already doing it. Lol

@Stereoguy There will be plenty of traffic through our little town over the Labor Day weekend. There’s a county fair here and campers heading north and east to camp sites.

i'll just watch another camping in heavy Rain video
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Stereoguy Yes. In airconditioned homes, with Firdges, freezers, Spas and cable TV on at least two seperate rooms, and the internetof course. If I am going to spend half my time locked down I am going to do it right.😷

@Stereoguy Right now I can only drive 5KM from home, so my bricks and mortar one with no wheels and a shopping mall 200 M away will do fine 😷
GJOFJ3 · 61-69, M
Not going to be one of them

The closest I come to camping is at a Hilton Garden Inn
