Why do paediatric patients in hospital always cry, scream and fail to cooperate with doctors and health staff in hospital unlike regular patients?

i work in an hospital in an operating theatre and if you are sat in your theatre waiting for your patient to be put out .there are kids on the list you get a lot of that and it can be upsetting too hear it . they basically are scared and do not understand what is going on and the sadly the ones with autism can be worse and that is no fault of theirs [mysteryespresso]

Because they are children and don't know any better. They're in a different environment and in most cases are probably very scared. I think it's horrible when children are ill...especially when it's with something that requires prolonged hospitalization.
