I've sent very few gifts and take the attitude that it is then up to the intended recipient to accept, open and respond, or not. I don't get my knickers in a wad if they don't. They could have not seen it, or maybe they just don't, for their own reason, want a gift from me. I don't consider it as bad manners or really as anything other than a gift not opened. No harm, no foul.
Well, maybe some harm, to them, as I'm great guy and they are missing out on a gift sent!🤣

Your theory is correct, but in my case…
In my case, I have turned notifications for gifts off in general.
Also I only see the gift if I get it while I am online AND I am given a gift.
Usually I use gifts to joke around with someone I am interacting with “live” in that moment.
I have on occasion been embarrassed that I have been given gifts without realizing and never responded.
Some people leave their light on but aren’t actually online
If you want to take your gift back, it really is okay especially if they haven’t seen it.

@Mindful Thank you for your input.
On more than one occasion, I have sent one and not even gotten an acknowledgement!

@ProfessorPlum77 I also don’t reply to someone I don’t really know…I think people who are new would be more open to playing with gift giving than people who already have buddies … that’s just me.

After 4 weeks they are ungrateful if it is unopened
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@nedkelly Indeed?
smiler2012 · 56-60
no if you take them back you feel like a bit of and indian giver [professorplum77]
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@smiler2012 I agree with your sentiments, but why let several thousand points lay unused?
smiler2012 · 56-60
@ProfessorPlum77 true enough do you reclaim the points back as i do know how that would work
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@smiler2012 I reclaimed two. The points were automatically added to my total.

I have sent out Chirstmas gifts to everyone on my friend list in the past, and some of them were opened in July! 🤣🤣🤣
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@4meAndyou Hmm. Maybe a few come in here on an irregular basis.

I reclaimed two. Both were from March, 2021.
