What are some really popular movies that you've never seen and really don't have any interest in either?

Me, The Matrix and Philadelphia
SW-User
Anything with Tom cruise, can't stand him
@SW-User Oh come on. It’s just a joke. I’m sure Tom is very het
SW-User
@SW-User Wow

@BettyBeez it's terrible!
ShreksHouse · 56-60, M
@BettyBeez at least you didn’t say Shrek.
Anything with Will Ferrel. He just…no.
@stratosranger 👀 you keep that tinkling over there
@stratosranger You're full of tinkle? That's not all you're full of. ba dum tss
@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays Golden shower time! UNZIP…
DrWatson · 70-79, M
The Marvel superhero movies. I have not seen any of them.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
@DrWatson it did nothing for me. I was never into any of that but figured what the hey, it was bonding time, lol.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@Keepitsimple Reminds me of when I suffered through "Inspector Gadget" with my daughter!
SW-User
@DrWatson You're not really missing out on much
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
Gone With The Wind
It’s a Wonderful Life
127 Hours
Benjamin Button

I respect your decision, but man, Philadelphia was a powerful movie.
4meAndyou · F
I refuse to watch any movie starring, made or directed by Woody Allen, the pedophile.
SW-User
@4meAndyou same!!!!! I've never seen any of his work
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
50 shades of Grey
Avatar
Pretty woman
Human1000 · M
@CrazyMusicLover I got through 15 mins of Avatar.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Human1000 I tried watching it twice and I always fell asleep. I don't remember anything.
Tempest · 22-25, F
Anything modern. Cinema is dead.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@Tempest The recent Dune is good, way better than Lynch's one. "Once upon a time in Hollywood" is another relatively recent movie that I enjoyed watching.

Overall yeah, it's full of sh*t but some decent or good movies come out every now and then.
Tempest · 22-25, F
@Elessar I'm just being a curmudgeon for the sake of it tbh, there's still good films of course haha
SW-User
Fuck Wes Anderson's face.
Human1000 · M
@SW-User not into ironic quirk for hours on end?
SW-User
@Human1000 It just feels smarmy and false coming from Anderson. Distilled disingenuousness.

Safety Not Guaranteed does it effortlessly imho. Aubrey Plaza is so charming in that. <3
Anything to do with Harry Potter
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@MorbidCynic I didn’t want to see it but someone had it on their TV in Morocco when I was there and after about 20 minutes I remarked that it was a dark movie with witchcraft and they changed it. Probably popular with some people there, saw a lot of spell stuff in the souks, they do a lot of magic there.
SW-User
It's not specific movies so much as certain kinds: just not very interested in Star Wars or superhero films despite their popularity. I did see The Matrix and I liked it, but it is a bit overrated. For the most part I don't see movies just because they're popular. A lot of popular movies I've thought were just okay.
Freeranger · M
Lawd.....without question Harry bleddy Potter.
SW-User
Lord of the rings
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@SW-User I refuse to watch those movies precisely because I loved the books so much.

(I am weird that way!)
SW-User
@SW-User I have not seen that either
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays I watched the first six, and I thought they were over-rated.
Elessar · 26-30, M
On top of my mind: anything Marvel, Fifty Shades and literally everything in that genre, Hunger Games and everything in that sub-genre, the second Donnie Darko when the first already was just massive reciprocal-jerk*ff material for self-proclaimed intellectuals, almost every attempt at "comic" movies especially originating in my country (same boomer-level jokes being recycled for over 50 years, won't even bother giving 'em a chance), and the great majority of remakes / late sequels of movies that didn't need any, including potentially the new Matrix, the new Jurassic Park, etc.

Only "remake" that I watched and was worth it imo was Villeneuve's Dune, recently.
Rambo
Dawn of the Dead - and all other zombie movies
Friday 13th
Halloween - basically all of the slasher / gore movies.
DragonFruit · 61-69, M
Any of the Marvel or DC comics movies.

Edit: I had a friend who worked as a consultant for "Philadelphia" (RIP Bruce).

the god father trilogy
SW-User
@stratosranger agreed with that, it was a let down
@SW-User Some years back Spike TV was running the Godfather Saga which was a television release of 1 and 2 but together, in chronological order with additional footage not seen on any other release. Fans asked Coppola if he would ever release it on DVD and he flat out said No. So bloody annoying. It was maybe the best version I’d ever seen (but full of damned commercials).
SW-User
@stratosranger glad I've not wasted my time on any of them then
gummybears · F
Star Wars (well I’ve seen 2 episodes) will never watch again 😅
Human1000 · M
@gummybears So boring.
SW-User
Schindler's List. Piece of shit.
SW-User
@SW-User I have not seen that one
SW-User
@SW-User I actually howled with laughter posting that as I've been imbibing. I have it in my DVDs here awaiting viewing, I just wanted an incredulous response for a laugh but it actually looks good to me. Big Liam's in it. 👍
I’ve never seen any of the Matrix movies, the Die Hard movies, the Rambo movies, or Titanic.
SW-User
@bijouxbroussard That's unacceptable. You're coming with me and we're going to watch all three matrix films together.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@bijouxbroussard but Die Hard is the ultimate Christmas movie and Harry Potter movie ever!

The Lord of the Rings
SW-User
The list is pretty big. Pretty much all the superhero movies come to mind.

A bunch of men in tights saving the world doesn't interest me in the slightest.
empanadas · 31-35, M
All super heroes movies are shit. But of people with super powers running around in their underwear
