Curiosity. It Doesn't Always Kill The Cat
When it's 25 degrees out and you live in a snow belt, you have to make your own fun, particularly outside. Today, I decided to lance the boil of curiosity with a bit of experimentation with the centuries old Japanese technique of Shou Sugi Ban. Curious?馃
The tools and their results were interesting, at least for me.[image deleted][image deleted][image deleted][image deleted]After charring the pine to an alligator skin appearance, you wire brush it, and afterward, apply a favorite stain or in my case, linseed oil. The photos don't do the final appearance, but it's a gorgeous finish. Now I'm tossing the appropriate stain around in my head.
