I wouldn't worry, I assume your dog is unfamiliar with the surroundings since you say you moved from home. It will take him time to adjust to the strange sounds like a furnace turning on or water in the pipes draining etc. I'm sure if there was trouble, he will hear it much sooner and warn you. I hope you get some rest and enjoy your evening.

@ClassicRocker we moved from home, yes...but my dog and I have been in this apt for 2 years. it was really nothing, it was just unusual. normally he gets bark tourettes in the daytime. not night. hes calm now though.

@Lilnonames nah live in a block of one level close apts. yes crime can happen but its unlikely since we are all so close. but, cameras are always a good idea. thanks.

@SW-User I laughed it off because sometimes I laugh off what I find disturbing. my post is titled "triggered" and mentions being scared. to be honest.....originally, I took your comment as "have a gun? k*ll yourself". I now realize that wasn't it and.... I don't know what to say. ...but yep I only have a bb gun. and mace.

@HellsBelle I feel broken too. I just took to other means to find connection than SW? And I've been known to be surprised, by even myself, even though I don't regret to escape that feeling of brokenness at times, cause who is going to heal you, but yourself?
