You know me, my nonsense of humour and the passive aggressive BS I use to communicate, it happens a lot.
when i was a kid i told this other girl she dressed like a baby (she was in a short lacy white dress) anyway she told her mom and my mom made me apologize 😳 omg
ServantOfTheGoddess · 61-69, M
People will misinterpret anything you say and then lash out at you for what they mistakenly thought you said. Especially on social media.
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
The art of communication is more than just being forthcoming with your candid opinion. It is also being able to anticipate how your audience is likely to receive your opinion, and learning how to phrase it so they will understand your opinion without feeling they are being attacked or judged and become defensive and upset.

@dancingtongue lol. What if you don't know the person you're speaking with but they've asked for everyone's opinion here about a problem or a situation? I've seen those kinds of posts a lot. AND, they rarely end well. People will ask but, in reality, they don't want someone else's opinion. They just want someone to agree with them and get angry at your response.

Sometimes, people are too effed in the head. 😳 Period.
dancingtongue · 80-89, M
@SW-User You're right -- sometimes, as you say. But often the response is not worded in a way to present a different viewpoint, or to enlighten, or even to play devil's advocate. It is phrased in a judgmental way. And when you don't know a person is when you should be striving to not rush to judgment, or make assumptions.
Adaydreambeliever · 56-60, F
Yes, it happens all the time.. it's usually just that they disagree with you and dont like what you are saying so by claiming you are attacking, they shut down the conversation straight away
DrWatson · 70-79, M
Not exactly that, but after I respond to someone, I can get accused of saying something I did not say, with an intent I did not have, and then get attacked for that.
Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
I wouldn’t worry about it here. You’re wasting your time.
SW-User
lol. You know me, what do you think? 😂🤣

Some people here are extremely sensitive snowflakes.
SW-User
@SW-User I don't get it😂😂😂😂 being oppionated doesn't mean you're attacking
SW-User
@SW-User I know. I think it has to do with personal interpretation at times. People used to get upset with me when I sent out business emails when I was working in NYC. I was doing the job of 2 or 3 people, and I didn't have time for flowery niceties. I'd quickly lay out what needed to be done and people would be offended because I didn't sugar coat anything. lol.

Here, the worst situations are when a person appears to be looking for opinions and then gets mad at you when you give it! 🤣🤣🤣
TurtlePink · 22-25, F
Don't mind those fools
adorbz · 26-30, F
a zillion times 👀👀

although tbf some of the time I was kinda attacking them and just denying it 😕😕
SW-User
@GeorgeTBH I can't believe that anyone would say that to you 😔💜
GeorgeTBH · 31-35, M
@SW-User people can just be dicks sometimes i don't believe anyone would say anythign like it to you you are nothing but nice on here 🧡
SW-User
It's a fact, sadly, that if people don't like what you've got to say, they'll accuse you of attacking them. I noticed this around the time of the 2020 election with the Trump supporters 🤦‍♂️
SW-User
@SW-User yeah, it's weird indeed
What happened?
SW-User
@InOtterWords I'm horrified that some guy said young girls should be taught to say no..

What about the boys though.. 😐
@SW-User yeah I've seen it now
Oh, absolutely. I’ve been accused of attacking people for simply stating facts.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@bijouxbroussard And you are very good at it, I might add!
REMsleep · 41-45, F
@bijouxbroussard Many hate facts
REMsleep · 41-45, F
Yes, these days people over the internet are just unreasonable.
You can't even bother to second guess your interactions with many of them because they lie, gas light, blame for fun
There are no surprises left in the actions of this online world and being accused of attacking someone when you are expressing your real thoughts though distasteful on the accuser's part is par for the course.
Still I am sorry that happened to you.
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
Weak people don't like having their ideas challenged ....
smiler2012 · 56-60
{@athenaarena] i think any honest and candid opinion can be seen as an attack as the opinion differs from someone elses. if there is not agression in the comment i would hardly class it as an attack as such . i think the problem can be from time to time they do not want to listen and embrace an opinion if it goes against thiers . so then justify themselves by saying you are being aggressive
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
I saw that and thought it was ridiculous.

It’s happened to me but I am trying not to give AF.
Yep on EP, years ago. It was quite shocking.
