@curiosi Red Cross is a big-time scammer. They do give a bit of money to people to replace essentials in the form of a gift card

@cherokeepatti Yep and they sure know how to pull at heart strings. Was told they showed pics of the damage etc. They pulled in a huge amount.

@curiosi believe they have been involved in some nefarious things which I won’t go into details here but it’s international in scope. They’ll never get another dime from me ever again.

@SW-User they don’t actually have those billions in fluid money. It will be buildings, factories, equipment etc. and unless they can suddenly find someone willing to buy billions of their net worth in one go and who somehow has that money, then they can’t.

The government, however, does have that fluid money in the form of taxation. The US just spent four trillion dollars of tax money, which is enough to feed the entire planet, instead they spent it on systems to tax even more money because apparently 4 trillion isn’t enough, taking more than that is a priority over feeding people.

@LordShadowfire what you described doesn’t stop you from investing and building. My parents never earned much but spent what they did have on music lessons for me and now I run a music teaching company. I also spent just a couple of £’s in investments, used the profits to invest more, used the profit from that to make more. Now I’m throwing around hundreds into different things from that initial couple of pound investment. Who is stopping you from doing the same?
