you ever get worried about SW?

I mean, we all make fun but...... look at the "likes" and "views" of all posts....none of them really go over 100...much less 1000.

does that mean there's less than 4000 of us? (trying to figure view per comment ratio...) 🤷‍♀️

that's only worrisome to me because I came on here to connect and meet people and have a wide base to do so......and I don't know if it's dying. I really don't want it to. I vent here and can be my anonymous self here.

Over 100,000 users (devices/unique entities) have browsed SW over the past month.

There are Hundreds of registered users online on SW at this very moment, however it's actually a minority of users that do all the Public posting.

The majority of active users do not post, nor comment on posts.

Because this site is finally becoming more organized, however (which was our goal, since years ago).

We can finally, soon start promoting and growing SW more.

We did not want to promote a site that was so very disorganized and fragmented.

We can't share our marketing strategy right now, unfortunately, however, users may become aware of some of what we are doing to boost growth, over the coming weeks and months.

The topic tree changes make much more sense, knowing you're going to expand. Can I ask one more thing though? Are you going to keep the groups which are still here right now? I think it's confusing that there are both topics and groups.

Nope. Don't give it much thought except that I find myself leaving for extended periods because I don't care for the chronic negativity and cursing at people when there's a disagreement.

@Sheer me too. i wish there were so many more. oddly I think it comes from lack of advertisement. I HATE ads but......man they work. SW does not have any ads anywhere. soo..... mass announcement:

@HellsBelle I’m also on SW wanting to connect with others, and I honestly don’t feel like there are enough people here to do so. Well it’s probably possible, but kind of difficult. The format of the site kind of invites the mentality: “ask questions and comment, but don’t talk to me otherwise.” In my opinion, anyways.
To me it’s alright, because the other half of the reason why I’m here is to share some things I want to write.
I don’t think SW’s dying by any means. It’s just a small site. Some advertisement could probably do them good, but I suspect it’s not something they really feel like investing into.

While I want the place to survive, honestly, I wouldn't want to promote it in its current state. For a very long time the technical state of the site has felt... half-assed, and fixing that is going at a slow pace. While I'm not liking the direction the staff is taking with that place, even if I did I would still say its a bad idea promoting it before they have actually have solidified a lot of the changes.

I would say it is easier to get new blood than it is to get someone who has tried the page and disliked it to give it another chance... hence not bringing in a heap of new people until it is in a more polished (and thereby "likable") state.

But yeah, I'm starting to wonder if SW's days are numbered.
