Say honestly do you feel he said it jokingly or he was just being overconfident?

Back in 2016, after my 10th grade final board exams got over, we went to our native Siliguri and Falakata for summer vacations. One day, me and my grandpa were going to the Jadabpally area which is the most rural part of Falakata to meet my grandpa's younger brother. I remember asking my grandpa that 'who would win in a running race between me and his brother?' His brother was 60 back then because he is 4 years younger than my grandpa who was 64 that time and I was only 15. He said we will ask him once we go to his home. After going to his home in Jadabpally area, my grandpa said him 'my grandson is asking who would win in a running race between you and him?'(our entire conversation was in Bengali). Then he answered 'ami okey heteo hariye dite parbo' which means 'I can win against him in the race even just by walking.' My grandpa laughed hard. Yes he literally said he can win against me in a race even by walking even though he was literally 60 yrs old and I was just a 15 yr old boy. But it was funny so I laughed too hahaha.
