i think most older people tend to care less because fashion is often used for signaling sexual availability and status. but older people are often married or their status is more dependent on other things than their clothing as they get older, so they have less reason to care about it. if you look at younger people, they use fashion as a way to impress the other young people. so its not really that older people are more 'woke' but just that they have less reason to care.
if you look at how fashion plays a role in business, that aspect doesnt change. youll see older people who want their professionals to wear the proper signaling clothes (doctors with their coats, bankers with their suits, etc.)
