Not here North of you in South Dakota. We are still way behind, I couldn't even find rice today let alone TP.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@acpguy They had 50# bags of white rice for about $16 last week, the plain kind
acpguy · C
@cherokeepatti I've been looking for Basmati.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@acpguy they finally got it stocked back at Sam’s Club... I already bought a bag but my neighbor needed some & I got her a bag since she doesn’t have a Sam’s card. Chef’s stores may have it too
Jasondf · M
Mustard. Lots n lots of mustard still available
TexChik · F
Hey I saw that Walmart is getting TP and paper towels back
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@TexChik yes they are, so is Sam’s
MaryJanine · 61-69, F
@TexChik Don't say that too loud - or the squirrels will be standing in line.
TexChik · F
@MaryJanine Hahahaha
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
Don't know. just same old day
fresh fruits and vegetables are plentiful at the stores. The canned and frozen stuff - not so much.
4meAndyou · F
People don't want the fresh stuff, because it has been touched. Wash it really carefully.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@4meAndyou it was all packaged except the avocados What I bought today
Earthwrap · 41-45, M
@cherokeepatti I tried looking into this. Cooking food is likely to kill the coronavirus just as it kills all over germs and bacteria. If you eat produce raw though I'm not sure. So far farm workers don't have any reported outbreaks but that will change and farm workers have even less medical care and protections than average people. So they are probably more likely to work when sick. The coronavirus can't reproduce on produce though so it will decay over time and as long as you wash it, it might not contain enough of the virus to get you sick. So you are probably ok. E Coli and other problematic bateria known to be on food is more of a problem becuase it can replicate on in food.
Another good thing is UV light aka sunlight is extremely effective at killing viruses and vegetables usually grow in the sun. :)
Heartlander · 80-89, M
Broccoli and squash are still as abundant as ever :)
MaryJanine · 61-69, F
It depends on where you go, what you want, and what you need. I finally got my milk, cereal, and bread in a month.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
I find the higher end the store, the more stock. Discount stores and WalMarts are the worst.@MaryJanine
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@JimboSaturn yes they are slowly getting toilet paper, eggs, bread, rice etc back. Dollar Stores had things like eggs, bread, rice, beans when the other stores had sold out of all of that.
MillionBrian · 41-45, M
laundry detergent is plentiful, and surprisingly so is the liquor aisle.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
Both very surprising to me! You think that if they stock up on toilette paper detergent would be next. Fortunately there is plenty of liquour! lol @MillionBrian
BlueVeins · 22-25
I noticed that the black licorice got cleaned tf out, but red licorice is still abundant. Why, I do not know.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
Maybe they think there is some kind of medicinal properties to black licorice :P @BlueVeins
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@JimboSaturn helps with digestion, it’s the anise oil in it.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@cherokeepatti also an anaphrodisiac (like red licorice), but I tend to think you'd want the opposite in a quarantine.

Lard...I guess I'm about the only one that buys that stuff.
The pre packed cold turkey slices that I just bought... on their use by date!!! Paying full price for that 🤬 should be illegal!!! 😡
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@HootyTheNightOwl should be
4meAndyou · F
@HootyTheNightOwl You can freeze that stuff.
@4meAndyou If I wanted to freeze it, it would have made more sense for me to have bought a frozen turkey and cooked and sliced it myself.

My issue is that we are being told to go out as little as possible to prevent the spread of this virus - then we have idiots selling us food that has a use by date of today... it's not exactly a responsible thing for them to be doing right now.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
Yes fresh produce is nice and stalked here in Canada. However our dollar declined and they are going to up in price soon. :( The worst here is frozen grocery, pasta, paper goods, meat (I'm in the grocery business lol)
SW-User
canned foods, clothing detergent and dish soap, and pet food (for their pets)
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@SW-User they emptied shelves of a lot of canned items here, but are starting to keep them stocked now
PaleandPolluted · 36-40, F
Stuff that doesn't taste good
Earthwrap · 41-45, M
I was expecting this. People can only eat so much food. Now that everyone horded and stocked up, the stores are all getting stocked back up and people don't need to buy anything.

Give it a couple months time though and we will see supply chains getting all screwed up pretty good.
Johnblackthorn · 56-60, M
We're not hoarding because we live in woodland and it would attract rats, but we've had only a little trouble finding a few things, currently we need nothing.
Pfuzylogic · M
Prepared chicken, ribs, fresh cookies and muffins were going at a discount once it made the news that one of the stores employees was infected! 😁
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Pfuzylogic yikes
Pfuzylogic · M
@cherokeepatti
Ribs 50% off but I passed it up.
The sick employee intimidated my normal risk taking which is unusual.
YMITheWayIM · 46-50, M
People are not hoarding anything here. And I am impressed and glad too.
jaymic64 · M
Went to crest Sunday to shop for my mom. They were well stocked.
jaymic64 · M
@cherokeepatti I’m glad the sun came out this afternoon. I do better at home
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@jaymic64 I am retired and used to it, I can always find things to do, even if the internet and cable went down I could survive
jaymic64 · M
@cherokeepatti same here
I have no problem finding deodorant. Almost hope everyone stays inside just for that reason alone!!
TheYummyNurse · 26-30, F
Autographs of Donald Trump
Earthwrap · 41-45, M
@TheYummyNurse ewww. That's the first thing to use to start the wood stove.
I've noticed that too. People are spending their money on non-perishables for the long haul, I think.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Mamapolo2016 and liquor
I couldn’t get sugar yesturday.. even all the icing sugar was gone
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
yes sugar and flour were sold out, I guess people thought they would take up baking @TheOneyouwerewarnedabout
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout people staying home & baking. I had a time finding half & half fresh creamer for my coffee
