No, but that sounds shitty. Both my parents are alive and I have no idea if they're taking care of things the way they "should."

Not at this point, but I certainly know people who have had to deal with that. My grandparents’ estate was a mess that my mother’s siblings (and even some cousins) fought over for years. My grandfather was a business owner.

I'm afraid my sister.
No.. But I think I should start clearing some of the mess whilst they are still around.

Thank you.
Could be worse

It's on the horizon. Already cleared house once for it to come back.

Afraid so. Most younger people expect to live for a long time. We can't necessarily expect everyone to have all their ducks in a row when they have no idea tomorrow will be their last day on earth.

My parents prepared themselves and it makes me tear up just thinking about it.

For several years, they would stack items on a table in the basement. The rule was... if we didn’t take anything from it then... it would be donated by the time we returned.

My mom also made a binder of their important documents and finances.

I wish she would have spent more time living than preparing to go.

My sisters and I won't mind the work, our parents need to spend their last years enjoying themselves and we'll deal with it.
