@Boeing It's not too late to start a family, you haven't quite skipped it yet. My wife was forty when she had our youngest.

doing meaningful work
For a large fraction of the world's population the only real meaning in the work they do is that it pays their bills and leaves enough money to take the occasional holiday.and other good stuff
I don't think most of us do much 'good stuff'. I'm just a wanderer.
You might well be a wanderer but don't put yourself down; you are not just a wanderer. Your wanderings show us glimpses of parts of the world and ways of the world that we will never see for ourselves. Most of us are too wedded to our safe lives, homes, mortgages, wives, husbands, and children, to take the chances you take.
A disadvantage to wandering is that you probably aren't able to save money for the inevitable time when wandering becomes difficult because of age or infirmity. That would worry me.
