I have, most often off into the woods by myself.

But there were a few work things where I had planned to go with others and they all bailed.

It is different for sure, but you are free to just go, do things, explore, etc.

Imagine being with a friend and they want to stay in the room while you want to go for a walk. After you get back you share with them all the things that happened.

Now imagine it's the exact same, except they're not in the room waiting, they're at home.

You deserve a break from alot of things, take it. Go relax, have an adventure, meet others, ask what brings them there, discover the other souls and their stories (and if you'd like, share yours with them)

I've wanted to. I haven't yet though.

I’ve never done a full vacation solo but I’ve definitely taken vacation days to do things my friends and family would not do with me that I was willing to at least try or enjoy doing. So do you for a week I definitely know exactly what I would be doing!

Go for it! Where to?
Hopefully it's liberating!

I'm sorry, your friend blindsided. I imagine it was short notice, the cancellation? Likewise, I had to cancel a vacation recently, and it was to see a friend, but I gave a lot of notice to not blindside them.

I went to Italy alone after my divorce. I loved to walk around and see things at my own pace. Take the time to absorb the atmosphere. Not being hurried by someone else.

I've gone on a cruise by myself. Gone camping lots of times by myself. Sometimes it just allows you to relax and be yourself you can do whatever you want.
