What types of cards have you collected throughout your life?

My dad and I collected baseball cards when I was little. I started getting basketball cards, too. When I was about 12, I started collecting Pokemon cards. I really miss those days. We'd open our cards together, trade with one another, look up the values in the Beckett price guide, and place the good ones in protectors. We watched baseball together, every game! When Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa had the race for the home run record, we watched it all together. He's gotten older, and he's lost interest in just about everything. He doesn't seem to enjoy his life. It breaks my heart.

Anyhow, are/were you a card collector?

The only one I ever "collected" was an autographed Johnny Bench card. I loved Johnny Bench.

My card was lost in the Joplin tornado. I was too big to cry, but I wanted to.

@Nelladell Maybe they didn't know who owned the house or what the dugout was. It's hard to believe someone would just willingly remove something like that. I guess even the realtor didn't know. We don't have many decent realtors here, anyhow.

@Arithmoman I hope my card blew into the hands of a Johnny Bench lover.

@Nelladell It probably did. There are quite a few collectors out there who will take good care of stuff like that. I'll find that Bill Dickey autographed photo and send you a picture of it. It might be a few hours.
I used to collect empty cigarette boxes of my Pa and pretend being a poor architect later destroying my own creation & letting my sibling take over. He was way better than me.
