But your special connection with your special boy is *your* relationship to grieve as you must.

Allow yourself the time to deal with it. It is hard. That's ok--real affection leads to real loss, so your tears honor the love & attachment, the connection you shared.

Yes...the lack of his sounds, his smells, him licking you, him wanting to be with you, him being beside-himself happy when you come back...those things you'll miss.

You chose well, as did he.

I’m so sorry. One night I was out walking with my dogs, and I was on the sidewalk and someone almost hit my dogs with his bike. I would’ve killed him. I can only imagine the restraint you had to not do that.

It is always so hard to lose a beloved "fur baby". When I lost my Aussie a few years back it nearly wrecked me. I understand your pain and I am so sorry for your loss.
