I think it’s interesting that conservatives think liberals “indoctrinate” children when in my childhood Christian shoved religion down my throat

They view christianity, nationalism and bigottry as a default that should be upheld and defended

And furthermore it's conservative states that are banning books. Hmm.

They’re also big on individual rights and freedom. Until it comes to a woman’s uterus.

I had both. From remarks about hoping we(students) didn't believe in evolution and that we were too smart not to believe in god to suggesting out of the blue that if any of us wanted to join the teacher strike we could and telling us that a man who doesn't help his impatient father is somehow doing wrong because his dad hurt himself. If you're not noticing it from one group then you are likely dyed in that wool.

So its ok because others do it? Two wrongs make a right?

@VampireQueen I am very blunt and straightforward. Personally I like speaking to people who don't agree with me, it makes me a more informed person and exposes me to things I may not seek out on my own.

@SumKindaMunster I’m just so used to everyone being against me I’m a bit numb to it at this point

@VampireQueen Well I know how that feels being an old, white, traditional, heterosexual male. 😆

As an old fart, I can tell you worrying about what people's opinion of you will not matter in the long run. Be yourself and the correct people will be drawn to you.
We all get indoctrinated to something, but are often not told the truth about it.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
Everyone indoctrinates anyone they possibly can. There's no one in this world who says "I firmly believe that reality works this way but I want other people to disagree"
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
Is that a euphemism for something SA related?

I think it's just different perspectives but the same thing, there's vegans who force their diet on their children and their political nonsense too. I see your point though, when there's whole entire communities based around religious cult like nonsense. Evangelicals come to mind with their closed off communities and their homeschooling of children.

What I'm ultimately saying is that it's a matter of perspective, if you were a conservative child in a liberal household, I doubt that would be received well but I also think the opposite is true.

yeah mine too. I guess that is part of growing up American. Glad those days are behind me. Religion and God is such a waste of time *yawn*
