I'm Beyond Angry. Beyond Sad. I'm Beyond Livid! Warning! Very Upsetting Video.

Uvalde Police: 77 Minutes of Inaction. YOU let Those Children Die!

This is so sad and disgusting to watch. So these cowards camped out in a hallway with their shields, body armor, tear gas, and assault rifles for one hour and fourteen minutes while 19 kids and 2 teachers who had no shields, armor, or weapons were slaughtered. What you don't hear on the video, because it was edited, were the children's screams. The only heroes in that school were the teachers that were protecting their students and the two who died trying.

They should all be stripped of their badges and be held accountable for not upholding the oath to safeguard lives.
We have young people in our military that have far less training than some of these officers and they don't run from danger. Maybe next time we should call the fire department. They don't run from danger either. They would have rescued those kids or died trying.
Good thing the media got that j6 thing to focus 100% on…

This incident was a failure on so many different levels. The key to all of this is the communication. The information the officers knew at the time. The person who is said to be the incident commander admittedly did not have his radio, so he had no information from the dispatcher. Not taking his radio is an unforgivable sin. He said it would have weighed him down. A police duty belt is about 12lbs. The radio is is maybe an lb. If one lb is gonna weigh you down find another profession. The initial officers on scene who ran towards the room and retreated after the suspect started firing at the door is understandable. They had only 9mm handguns and no tactical gear. Once the long guns and ballistic shield got there they should have made dynamic entry.

@JesseInTX imo the key was cowardice - they made a choice to put themselves in harms way to protect the public

Cowards, every last one of them. This is criminal cowardice and I blame each and every police officer there for the death of the children and teachers.

I'm a leftie, so you know what I think about guns. But I have a lot of friends in Texas. Most of them own guns. It is what it is, and I accept that. It's supposed to keep them safe. My sister lives in Texas and she says that many of her friends carry concealed handguns. SO WHERE THE FUCK WERE THOSE PEOPLE WHEN IT MATTERED?

I thought it was supposed to be, "Don't mess with Texas." But apparently it's more like, "Mess with us for 77 fucking minutes because, even though we talk a big game, we don't actually do anything when it matters."

You fight so fucking hard to keep your right to your guns. WHY DIDN'T YOU FUCKING USE THEM WHEN IT MATTERED?!!

All the fights over gun laws and none of it even mattered. What good is the second amendment if you don't have the courage to do what it takes when it counts? When the time comes to actually USE that gun that's supposed to be protecting you, y'all a bunch of spineless cowards.

Yes, I get it. #NotAllTexans. I'm just really fucking angry right now. Y'all did more to prove the uselessness of your guns than any of us on the left ever could. This is not a good look for you.

gross/criminal negligence

If law enforcement is either too incompetent or too cowardly to use their issued weapons to prevent or end a crime in progress, then they shouldn't even be armed either. If they can't/won't do the job they were hired for, then they should find a different job (traffic cop or meter maids or something).

Were there the same level of accountability in law enforcement as there is in the military, they'd be charged with desertion and spend at least five years in prison.

In this particular instance, the police should be defunded; no point in them having all that tax payer funded equipment if they're not gonna use it.

On the other hand, if federal/state/local governments would hire combat veterans as security guards (someone trained in combat that isn't a fucking coward), and pay them a reasonable salary, these tragedies would never happen, that shooter would be dead before he stepped through the door...

incompetence at best, intentionally allowing it to happen at worst. That video just hit the
San Antonio TV stations this evening. People are livid!

@TexChik

The eyes of Texas are upon these police miscreants in Uvalde, and rightly so.
Montanaman · M
@Thinkerbell I know it. And their Voices will not be silenced until jobs are taken away, or even charges filled.
justanothername · 51-55, M
Bloody sad. Prime example of incompetence at its best.
I was really tore up about it when it was first released. It still makes me sick. Then more angry because they only blame it on gun violence. He could've been filled with a good round and God only knows the lives to have be spared, even if it was just one precious child.💔
tindrummer · M
too many cowardly cops except when facing obviously unarmed suspects
Quimliqer · 70-79, M
One can only hope there are repercussions for the lack of action.

Criminal incompetence... 😞
Montanaman · M
