What is Intelligence?
AN INTELLIGENT PERSON HAS A HIGHER IQ ?
A high IQ score is never a deciding factor to prove someone's intelligence. Getting good grades at school, college and University doesn't imply you are intelligent.
But intelligence goes far beyond scores and grades.
AN INTELLIGENT PERSON IS SUCCESSFUL PROFESSIONALLY?
Just because you are a scientist, engineer or doctor doesn't speak for your intelligence. Sure you must be good at your work that you are professionally successful and your educational qualifications and academic achievements made it possible for you to have that profession.
AN INTELLIGENT PERSON IS KNOWLEDGE ?
To be knowledgeable means to be factually aware of what's happening around the world. It is being well informed by application of critical thinking. If you read a book in someone's favour then consider reading a book that's against them and evaluate the contrasting conflicting opinions.
Knowledge is not acquired through agenda based news media with a manipulative intent to influence you with a sensational story peg only to get your attention, only to get you interested, only to get you hooked to their channel or publication with the ulterior motive to subconsciously influence your thoughts.
But intelligence goes far beyond just having knowledge.
AN INTELLIGENT PERSON IS A PERSON OF WISDOM ?
Wisdom is in being self aware, it is our ability to introspect our inherent nature, understanding our behavioral patterns and knowing why and how we act and react to situations and experiences. Wisdom is having clarity of thoughts, and balance of our emotions to process the information overload we receive. Wisdom is our ability to distinguish the propoganda against considering the mere possibility of seeing a different picture.
But intelligence goes far beyond wisdom.
INTELLIGENCE IS HAVING AN OPEN MIND ?
To have an open mind is to be not in a rush to prove others wrong in order to prove ourselves right. An open mind is our genuine willingness to listen to others
patiently without the hurry to counter.
An open mind comprehends what's been said or written and yet having the empathy to consider perspectives different from ours. An open mind gives us an opportunity to see a different side to a story. An open mind gives us freedom from stereotypes and prejudices.
Having stereotypes is allowing our mind to accept our preconceived notions. Stereotypes that are nothing but an influence the society and media has on our mind to brainwash us into believing something we haven't fully understood and experienced in its entirety.
Prejudices that subconsciously make us dislike someone with no rationality involved. Prejudices that we consciously imbibe through our limited experiences and subconsciously exhibit through our actions, reactions and behaviours with people involved.
WHAT IS INTELLIGENCE ?
A culmination of all the above but yet beyond that.
Intelligence is using our sharpness when we imbibe knowledge and information and having the wisdom to to allow clarity of thoughts to assess the information, to keep a check on our preconceived notions stemming from stereotypes and prejudices by keeping an emotional balance on our reactions only to enable ourselves to keep an open mind.
