It doesn't. And often its a bullshit type of an apology that really doesnt have any real sorrow behind it .

Sometiimes a forget button would be nice.

I used to want an apology too, now I have accepted it and am so glad he doesn’t contact me anymore.

The thoughts will not go away but it's okay to push them away. 💙 And realise that it's nothing to do with you, and everything to do with them
LilPrincess · 41-45, F
I thought i wanted that myself however i realized it wouldn't make the hurt i feel ever go away
Ontheroad · M
A sincere apology where a person takes full responsibility for their words and or actions are rare... they usually come in the form of "I'm sorry for X, but it happened because of Y".

NO, that's BS and not an apology, it's the person shifting blame for their crappy/hurtful actions. So yeah, apologies usually do nothing but make you angry/more hurt.
SW-User
@Ontheroad or they say they take responsibility but then aren't sorry for it ...wtf is that? Ugh fuq it ...it's been so long it should not even matter anymore...and it won't
Ontheroad · M
@SW-User "and it won't" is the key and that isn't always an easy place to get to. One has to learn how to put those hurts in perspective and to lock them up and throw away they key.

It's easy to know that and to say that, it's in the doing that we stumble.

Sorry loses its meaning when overused.
SW-User
@SarithBorn that too
That’s a tough one. I finally got an apology from my sister, who nonetheless thinks I "bullied" her for it by not speaking to her for months after finding out she’d stolen from me. I told her truly bullying would’ve involved sending the police to her door, which I didn’t do.

@bijouxbroussard that's tough when it's family too ..been there as well
Dino11 · M
@bijouxbroussard Sorry to hear that.
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
Would the apology even be sincere? Likely not.
SW-User
@iamonfire696 probably not
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@SW-User so it would mean nothing
TexChik · F
unfortunately, that's called healing. Its bitter and cruel, but it works.
