I dream about the 3rd ex quite a bit. I was with him for a long time, and he was woven into my life. I think the dreams I have are my subconscious trying to come to terms with a lifelong love based on falsehood.

Dreams can be so weird.
Sometimes you wakeup and go WTF was that all about? Feelings that you now know you are officially over it maybe?

@Adrift I was over him before I even divorced him. Took me two years of working to be in the position to leave. I have never felt any regret about leaving.

@cherokeepatti Thats good.
Our brains do some funny things while we sleep.
I actually had a dream like that and I woke up with the thought, I am really, officially over it.
I could run into this person today and it wouldn't mean anything at all.

It’s strange what surfaces from our subconscious. I suppose the best interpretation of them is the one that makes the most sense to us.

Dreams can make us realize many things we haven't vocalized.

@SweetMae It was strange that I didn’t feel disturbed by that dream. I think it was because I was detached enough (in the dream) to think completely logically about the situation. Maybe subconsciously thinking if I had done the same thing the first time it would have been over before it started.
