USB-C ports and twisted nylon cables do the trick for me

@MethDozer You mean, the male connector? I don't think I've ever had that specific problem, except maybe once with my previous phone, but it was caused by dust in the female connector and it resumed charging properly right after having cleaned it with a toothpick
Yeah I know, nothing a solder couldn't fix. The problem is that you either do it yourself, and I've quite shitty handcrafting skills to realistically manage to open, resolder and close a phone; or you ship it to the repair service, but I don't think they'll bother going for the cheaper option when they can just swap the board and anyways charge you for it since it won't pass as a warranty covered defect, most likely.

I hate this so much

@MethDozer the charger thing. It makes me wanna ... do something dramatic
MethDozer · M
@Doomflower it's honestly ridiculous. USB and Lightening link standards ate both trash
MethDozer · M
@Doomflower The damn things are unreliable AF

Business.

@SW-User yes and no. The commitees that create the USB standards don't actually profit off of then. Also, the phone companies don't make much or any profit off of them since they are "lego" componants and not made in house nor do the sales of most chargers or cord go through them. The vast majority of replacements are thrid party no-names.
It's largely piss poor wngineering and misplaced focus.

My USB type C works fine though.
MethDozer · M
@basilfawlty89 It's worth noting that while USB was designed to provide power it was never actually intended to be used as a charging recepticle.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@MethDozer maybe I'm old at heart, I dunno. But I typically charge at home, because I work remotely.
MethDozer · M
@basilfawlty89 I take mine all over and often use my phone while plugged in.
