It's said, that the 5 stages of grief are denial, anger, bargaining, depression and finally, acceptance.

In my case, I'm WAY past denial, yet nowhere near acceptance.

It doesn't feel like stages to me. More like waves that break upon a rocky shore, some days just ripples and some days full force.

Meh, I don't go along with that. Exactly what bowman said. And mostly we carry it with us the rest of our lives, although it does soften and lessen.

When you get older, and learn about life, those stages "might" change. For instance the denial stage is often skipped. I knew my father had passed away. There was no denying it. I was there when he did die.

The stages don't go nessesarily in that order and you can go back to one or another repeatedly.
Some people need lots of time to heal.

I didn't go through the bargaining stage when my dad and my dog died.
