I Believe Age Doesnt Define Maturity

I thought I did. Was raised poor as DIRT! many times we didn't know where the next meal was going to come from. So I began to save as soon as I was able. First job, first check, it went into a savings account. Now turning 65 I am unable to apply for subliminal insurance because I have too much in the bank. SUCKS!
Am I expected to give it all away to be able to ask the government for help?
All I have is my medicare card. Not been to the dentist nor had an eye exam. Not to mention being able to get medications.

I'm in the same situation. I lost my Medicade when I turned 65 last year because I had too much money in the bank. My SS deposit pays my rent and bills, but nothing more. If I'm still alive five years from now I will be broke and homeless. Medicare is a joke, like Obamacare. They take $105 from my SS every month, and I get nothing from it, I can't afford to go to a doctor or a dentist. I could spend $10,000 on my teeth right now and not afford food. Golden years, my ass!

A bit of a hint on dental... See if there is a dental school not too far from you. The students are learning and at the same time they are supervised. The fees may be far less than if you did have insurance to pay.
So go find a school and check the price list.
I know I have taken better care of my own mouth since I don't have Insurance.

I'm hoping the new President begins to unravel the rules that seem to hurt the people who are successful and saved up for the future.

I feel it is our past experiences that define our maturity..NOT AGE ALONE..
