I Have a Question

So you like to hunt. It's fun, right? How do you justify taking a life for fun? Taking a life when you dont have to?
Well....we actually eat what my husband kills. Fish, deer, rabbit, squirrel, elk...we have chickens that provide eggs and meat too! All of the meat is chemical-free, filler free, GMO free and I actually know where it comes from. It is also more cost effective for us. We are able to feed three families for a year on what hubs and I have.

So are you a homesteader or what?
@UnparalleledMonster: No, not a homesteader. Just a family.

There are so many other important things I can worry about when it comes to a life, than one that puts meat on the table. And no I won't feed my family a banana or Apple. They're not monkeys, they're full flesh boys wanting a good plate of deer meat.

That's fine if you get most of your meat from game. If you need to hunt to put food on the table. Do you need to hunt to eat or do you mostly get your food from the grocery store?

I do both. I live in a country part of the state where I'm surrounded by water and woods with a long ride to the store.

Where do you think the supermarkets get their meat?? Did you ever see those documentaries on abbatoirs? The animals are hardly treated well before or during slaughter. Some exposed severe cruelty.

At least a hunted animal used for food is living the wild life and unaware of its pending demise.
A skillful hunter will kill the animal in seconds, pain kept to a minimum and waste nothing.
There's no waiting around in yards or being transported crammed in double deck trucks getting manure and urine pouring in top of them for hundreds of kilometres. Then being herded into stalls for slaughter where I'm sure the smells, sound & atmosphere must be terrifying.

You will note that this post specifically addresses those who hunt for fun.
If you do not hunt as the primary means of putting food on the table or because you don't want to participate in the system of live-stalk raising and slaughter then you are doing it because you enjoy it.
You got it, boss.

A lot of people hunt to eat
MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
@Flenflyys

lol an overwhelming minority of hunters in developed countries are hunting to eat.
Sure they may eat what they kill but by no means do they have to do it to put food on the table
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
@UnparalleledMonster: ok well don't you go out hunting then
MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
