Right out of the box, I don't think there is one. People's needs and desires change. What's perfect for me won't be perfect for another, what's perfect today won't be perfect tomorrow.
Long story short.... perfect is adaptability, flexibility, communication, and openness....I think.

I think that one can find a variety of definitions on this topic, based on who is providing the input, and where they are from. I personally feel that there are many attributes to being a good wife, just as there would be to being a good husband.
A good wife is someone that is loving, caring, honest, , faithful, trustworthy, has integrity, selfless, compassionate, and much more. Individual tastes might call for a woman that can cook. Some may want the wife to be sexy, and be sexual. Others may want a wife that can keep a tidy and clean house. Heck, many would want all of that. There are those that would want a wife to be a good mother, should they decide to have children or there are children already present. Yet others may not care about mothering instincts and capabilities because they do not want children or any more children, based on how far along in life they are.
Like I said before, there will be many descriptions and definitions of a good wife, based on the wants/needs/desires of the man.

I think of who the perfect wife would be, including her faults and all the things that might create distance between us. But it's not likely the woman pictured would be she. (And she might be okay if she weren't posing as the stereotype she's portraying. There's no way to know without being with her.)

I did say she was close to perfect. I did not say that I was entitled to her or someone like her.
Men want to have sex with 85% of the women on the planet. Men can be completely satisfied with a woman who is not the sexiest in the world. Attractiveness is important, but it's not everything. But yes, more is better.
Ultimately, almost everyone has to settle, because people always want more. That doesn't mean they can't be satisfied.
The only thing that cannot be satisfied is the male desire to "spread the seed". They will always want to have sex with more and more attractive women. That won't go away.
But it doesn't mean anything. It's not the same as when women desire men, which usually means they have lost interest in their partner. It's empty. A purely physical compulsion. It means nothing. A man can want other women on a purely physical level, while still being dedicated to a woman who isn't "perfect". Men do love, too, you know.
As for this generation, most men could take or leave the housewife.

@ColdPenguin: I have slept but two hours so I will excuse your know-it-all attitude. Men can control where they plant their semen. Real men anyways. One problem today is still that men want women to do it all. Be a sex slave. Raise kids. Don't ask for help. Be a chaperone. Attend school meetings. And no respect. I think women want men who step up to the plate. Because things certainly are not equal. And women do not need to live up to the title of Superwomen. That is all I have to say. Good day.
