I Support Donald Trump

I usually try to avoid talking about politics, but this particular election season I'm scared to death about what could happen if Hillary Clinton becomes our next President. I know that there are many people (including friends of mine) who are so disgusted with both major candidates that either they're not going to vote at all, or they're going to vote for the libertarian candidate (Gary Johnson) or some other, lesser known candidate. But no matter what you do, even if you vote for a different candidate, one of these candidates - Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton - is going to be our next President. So you have a very important choice to make - perhaps a difficult, painful choice, but an important choice nonetheless. If you choose not to vote, or to vote for some other candidate, and even if you choose to vote for Hillary Clinton, I understand and respect your right to do so. But I hope that this post at least helps you to feel a little bit better about the distinct possibility of Donald Trump becoming our next President.

Here are a few things about Trump that the media will never tell you:

⚫ In 1986, Trump saw on the news that a widow whose husband had committed suicide was about to lose her home to foreclosure. Trump stepped in to help her.

⚫ In 1988, an ill Orthodox Jewish child was not allowed to take a commercial airline jet to get medical care because of all the life-support equipment he needed with him. Trump transported him on his own plane.

⚫ In 1991, 200 Marines got stranded at an airport while trying to return to their families. Trump used his plane to get them on their way.

⚫ In 1995, a motorist stopped to help Trump with a flat tire. Trump paid off his mortgage.

⚫ In 1996, Trump fought in court against discrimination of Jews and blacks in Palm Beach, Florida.

⚫ In 2000, Trump gave a large sum of money to help a young girl with Brittle Bone disease.

⚫ In 2008, after members of actress Jennifer Hudson's family were murdered, Trump put her and other family members up in his hotel for free.

⚫ In 2013, after a bus driver stopped a suicidal woman from jumping, Trump gave him a check as a reward.

⚫ In 2014, after Trump learned a U.S. Marine had been in a Mexican jail for seven months after accidentally crossing the border, Trump gave him $25,000 to get him back on his feet.

⚫ This year, Miss Wisconsin credited Trump with encouraging her during her struggles with illness and for helping get her Mexican-American son's way through college paid for.

⚫ This year, Trump helped a black female executive of his organization through "immensely difficult times" as she struggled through substance abuse.

While a person's past good deeds do not give a full picture of who they are and what they will do in the future, this is certainly an aspect of Trump's personality the Left and the mainstream media never mention as they make him a monument of every bit of hatred and intolerance they perceive in people who call themselves Republicans and conservatives.

I know that Donald Trump has his faults. He has said some things that have offended people, and I don't condone or try to excuse that. But I am a lot more concerned about the things that Hillary Clinton has done, or has failed to do, and the things that she will do if she is elected, than I am about things that Donald Trump has said in the past (especially things that he said many years ago). I think that actions speak much louder than words. I also think that Donald Trump has learned a lot over the course of this campaign.

I also know that some people are saying that Donald Trump made fun of a reporter for being disabled, but that simply isn't true. He was talking about the awkward situation that reporter found himself in when it was proven that he had said something that he had just claimed to not have said. Yes, it was very unfortunate that Donald Trump happened to move his hands in such a way that they looked similar to the way that reporter's hands looked in a particular photo. Yes, it was rather insensitive of him and he should have been more careful. But if you really want to know what was actually on Trump's mind when he was making that speech, this video will shed a lot of light on that subject. It was a gotcha moment, not making fun of a disability. Like I said, I usually try to avoid the subject of politics, but I cannot allow that lie to stand.

I also want to share another video, in which Trump talks about his concerns regarding the direction in which this country is heading and what's happening to us. It shows that Donald Trump understands a lot about some of the problems that America is facing and really does have our best interests at heart. He didn't need to run for President. He already has all the money that he could ever want, and being President isn't the kind of life that he has always wanted. But someone has to step up to the plate and do what needs to be done, and no one else seems to be doing it. I hope that you enjoy this video, or at least find it interesting.

This video keeps getting taken down, for one reason or another. I hope this one stays up.

It's not ignored. The wishes of the American people are expressed through the electoral college which apportions electoral votes to the states. Since 1789. Never otherwise. Oh, yes... through Senate, House, State Legislatures, Governorships, etc.

Official state counts exist, and are certified - that's how they assign electoral voters (which is why you won't get much in the way of faithless electors, and Congress would ignore them anyways). However, no national count exists. So the popular vote doesn't exist... it can only be inferred. It's not like it's a secret how the system works, it's been the system since 1789. That's why the parties campaign on.

@Djce45: That's sweet about respecting all the presidents. We don't have, here in Canada, any equivalent to the respect considered due to the POTUS by virtue of their office. This is one of the more subtle but interesting differences between our countries. Anyway I am sure you would be able to find that respect for Hillary Clinton too if you had to!

I would have respected her, but she would be the first that I didn't actually like.

Also... on a previous comment - $7M tax break to save 1000 jobs? That's peanuts - a great deal relatively speaking, and the return will far outstrip $7M.

Thank you for posting this thread, great information. I'm sure this is the most important election in my lifetime so far. The country, and the world are spiraling. If Hillary gets in things will get a lot worse fast. If Trump gets in the U.S. will start improving!
GO TRUMP!

I respect your right to vote for who you want and am just giving a view from outside of the US.

This election is making America look ridiculous, neither candidate looks like they should be running the country but Trump looks dangerous.

Terms like American democracy is dead, is being used and the instability, from outside, is worrying. A lot of people can understand the rise of Chinese power and countries 'swooping' sides.

I hope it works out either way but the Chinese partnership is looking a lot more palatable than the American at the moment.

Please don't shoot the messenger but I know that Americans very rarely look at how they are seen by the rest of the world.

Thanks for offering your perspective. It's always interesting to hear about how the rest of the world sees us, and it's true, we rarely think about that. I do think that America has lost a lot of respect around the world, and not just during this election season. From what I've heard, we were much more respected back in the 1980's, and we seem to have steadily lost the respect of other countries around the world since then.
Jesterblue · 56-60, M
@TeresaRudolph71: I agree, I grew up in the period where America led the way as was perceived to act in the best interest of the 'free' world. Since then it changed to be in their own best interest, which I don't have a problem with as this is why countries were formed in the first place; to look after their own. More recently it seems more about big business than what's best for their own nation and others. It seems to be a rich class of people looking after theirselves than the common American and their everyday problems. The country seems to have lost its Christian values and the care of people it once had!
Cinnamon · 31-35, F
TeresaRudolph since, as you say, these good deeds of Trump's haven't been publicized in the mainstream media, can you please share your sources for them?
Cinnamon · 31-35, F
@TexChik: Btw Snopes.com tells me that most of these anecdotes about Trump's good deeds are, in fact, true.
TexChik · F
@starsslave: so you're going to ignore them in favor of the propaganda the media fills your head with?
Cinnamon · 31-35, F
@TexChik: No, I'm not. I'm going to take them into account along with a lot of other information that I try to verify and think about. That's what they teach me to do in the elite liberal university. But as to what "the media" tells me being propaganda, what's your evidence?
SW-User
Right on! You couldn't be more correct!

@SW-User Thank you!

hope your side wins .
If the left media is opposing too much about a person then he/she is definitely going right.

The only problem is he has already stated that he will run the country the same way as his business....which means for himself!
TexChik · F
@Jesterblue: geeze you Libs can't get out of your own way. Obama has run this country into the ground ... as planned, because he dislikes America and Christians and prefers a one world order . Trumps companies are profitable and dependable ... there is nothing wrong with that .
1961dave · 61-69, M
@Jesterblue: WTF for himself, no, for everyone else! For his own good he'd be better off not dealing with this presidential Shit. The only thing he wants to do for himself is to be recognized as a great president!
