History is important, but I think too much time is spent on ancient history while the last century is often ignored. In every U.S. history class I've had, we always ran out of time right after the Great Depression. It sounds like a conspiracy to me.

Well, human affairs are complicated and detailed . . . but I don't think they make it that way just to make your history lesson a misery 😉

History needs to be taught in a way that captures pupils imaginations, not an easy task but a passion for the subject helps.
