I Have a Cat [Cats]

She is about twelve years old, all black and fighting fit. When I drive to the mall or the library she waits by the letterbox for me to come back. When I return she always runs across the driveway in front of the car to make sure that I see her. She must know my car. I have never seen her do this to any other. In the block where I live most people have a car. Others come and go all day long and she ignores them. I keep her for company but there are benefits. I never see any rats or mice around the place any more. She came with the most recent GF who is now long gone. When we first met she was terrified and ran from room to room in a panic, I had to hug her tight until she calmed down (the cat I mean, not the GF). We are very attached. On warm summer nights she likes to stay outside but in the Melbourne, AU winter the temperature drops to near freezing. On those nights she does not want to go out. When I go to bed she curls up at the foot of the bed and when I fall asleep she crawls UNDER the doona and lies as close to me as she dares in spite of the risk. Many times I have rolled over in the middle of the night only to be woken up by a struggling, screeching, squirming wretched mass of fur and bones UNDERNEATH me. She could avoid this peril by keeping a safe distance. It's her choice. I talk to her like a person, she only speaks one word, NOW! (Or maybe that's miaow).

Yes they know "their" car and yes they love sleeping under the covers on a cold night.

Hi canadarm. We used to have two but the older one became very ill and at the age of fifteen there was little else we could do for him but end his suffering by having the vet put him to sleep. Isn't it hard to let them go? The pain is worse than having a tooth extracted. If there is a heaven I am sure he will be waiting at the gate for us.

Yes I have been through that pain a number of times and it does not get easier. I agree.

I love kitty cats. I had one for 15 years and I miss him. He was a black cat with green eyes.
Cute :) I love my cat too 🤗
