A bearded man on a small island

From a passenger ship, everyone can see a bearded man on a small island shouting and desperately waving his hands. One of the passengers asks the Captain, “Who is it?” To which the Captain replies, “I’ve no idea. Every year when we pass, he goes nuts… wonder why!"
