What is the worst excuse you have either given or heard for being late ?

"My car was hit by a bus."

One of our staff used this as a reason to be late

I was stuck in the toliet doing a big poo

"The dog ate my home-work" I used this at school many long years ago. Embarassingly, the required essay was entitled, 'What do dogs eat ?' !!

My dad once used the excuse "I lost my toothbrush so I had to walk to the store and get a new one" as an excuse in high school. 😂

While in the Air Force, a young airman was late for formation. When asked why he was late he said "My mommy made me make the bed".
