I Love Films

What is your favorite scene from a movie? You can have more than one. One of my favorite scenes is from Fritz Lang's Metropolis, when Maria gets replaced by the robot and it does this weird, exotic dance in a nightclub. For some reason the way she dances makes me laugh but it also fascinates me because apparently that was what people in the 1920s considered "sexy".
I think a number of the scenes in "Blade Runner" stay with me. Maybe the scene at the end where the leader of the escaped replicant team confronts Harrison Ford's character is the most memorable for me. You realized that these creatures had consciousness, and they were in a horribly cruel reality where they could only live for a few years and were, therefore, acting out in futility and frustration.

Oh my, so many great scenes. The Fly (remake) when Jeff Goldblum tells his love that "flies don't have politics" and it might be dangerous for her if she returns. Five Easy Pieces when Jack Nicholson tells of the haughty Academic who puts down his white trash girlfriend, The Petrified Forest (whole movie). So many more. Cheers

It's kind of refreshing to meet a person of my age that admires Fritz Lang's Metropolis.
I like the scene in 1981 Chariots of Fire where the character of Eric Liddell speaks to a crowd after a race about God's Kingdom, and while he speaks the pouring rain stops and the sun comes out

The ending of the original Oldboy. Powerful stuff and it's rare to see the hero of a movie so defeated like that

When Scarlett O'Hara raises her fist toward heaven, "As God is my witness...."
One of the greatest movies ever made.
