Police are taught to shoot for the chest, to drop the assailant in his/her tracks. A handgun is a very difficult weapon to use except form hey close range. The need is to learn how to dcid when there is real causes to usepolice officer. deadly force. Unfortunately, there is a preconception that a black person my be more likely to try to hurt the police officer.

@OWTFWN: the article link i posted refer mostly to data relating to police chases and the likelihood of being killed during a police chase. So i was just contemplating the reasons behind that. You are maybe talking about something much bigger .

I would run too if I suspected the police were going to shoot me as soon as I stopped, or as soon as I stepped out of the car.

I agree with you after thinking about it. With education as the goal abstracted data can be spurious. In this I don't think it's a problem. The above statement is a headline, a quick information offer. And it will, I hope, motivate further reading@Booyeah:
