Anyone had to stand with their nose in the corner at school?

I heard of teachers drawing a circle on the chalkboard or markerboard and requiring a disruptive student to keep her nose touching inside the circle. A friend told me that she had to do this and she requested the paddle instead; seemed gutsy so I asked her why. She said for paddle licks you got sympathy but for nose in the circle time, you were just teased and laughed at.

Not at school. But my mom would use time out. That's pretty close.

A few times in junior school - after being slippered.

It happened. Most times for talking in class or for being cheeky.

Happened to me a number of times at school

Not at school. My dad would make my brother and i do that for hours, though.

I never had to but saw many do it ... usually for being disruptive in class ....

What did you do?

Was that in addition to or instead of a paddling?
