Is seatbelts on schoolbuses a fesible thing?

I mean how are they going to enforce kids wearing them. And what if there's a wreck and kids need out of them quick

I'm in a volunteer Fire Department, I have worked the Rescue Truck for a few years, only responded to one accident involving a school bus the driver had a stroke at the wheel and hit a parked car.

I really don’t see a need for seatbelts on a school bus, I think there is more of a need to have the recording camera’s on all school bus’s to protect the children.

If they force the issue of having to install seatbelts on a school bus, then they would have to force all bus companies to install seatbelts. Then let’s not stop there we should also make trains put seat belts in and require no standing passengers on bus’s or trains for safety.

Seat belts do save lives folks in the places like cars and airplanes taking off and landing I don’t think they should be on a bus.

I don't either they are talking about seatbelts in the wake of that accident in Chattanooga. Cause the bus turned over the turn over is not what killed those kids it's the tree

A lady in my church drives a school bus. Her bus has seatbelts in first 3 rows and she keeps her smallest kids up there and does make them put them on

Because they wont let the kids bash their brains open if the bus were to topple.[youtube=https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KbCciy8ePds]

@sassygirl15: my school teachers had to walk around and check if we were wearing them. Apparently they could get fired if they didnt.

@sassygirl15: also, if kids dont bother to practice safety, they can mash their stupid little brains then.

Ok yeah they need to have monitors on the bus. Either another adult or of nothing else hire a few responsible high school age kids to do it. The high schools get our here before the elementary. I'd even volunteer of meant keeping kids safe

Seatbelts aren't really necessary for buses. If the bus suddenly stops the kids will just slide forwards into the next seat, there isn't a danger of hitting the windshield like there is for the driver.

And like you said, if there's an emergency they want it to be as easy as possible for the kids to get out of the bus.

No. Busses are already 3 to a seat. With belts there would be less room and costs would be her having to buy nor busses to deliver all the children.
School bus usually wins an argument with other cars. Impact isn't that big..

Yep buses usually don't turn over and have a tree fall on it.
