I Like to Collect Quotes

Very nice. A lot of cross currents in that relationship, I dare say.
So....may I ask where does this leave you ?
Wanting somebody to lead and be dominant, loving, of course, or do you want to be that person ?

im curious as to where you got this from the quote. As I did not see anything related to Dominant or submissive relationships. It's interesting the view different people have for things.

Well, "he" sounds abusive, which is a form of dominant, not very nice form, and I guess I just let my mind run on it.
So, what is your take on the poem ?

Real dominant men are not abusive. The very thing they desire is control. Not just control over their partner but control over themselves and their environment. You can't hope to lead another if you don't have your own shit together.

My take on the poem is I think she loves him. And she feels if she sticks it out she can change him. Fix him. Only eventually she realizes that she is the one who is broken. Either by him or by her illogical thinking that she can change him if she just rides out the storms. Thus forcing her to look inward for her happiness rather than placing it in the hands of another person. Nobody is responsible for another persons happiness. We can be supportive and we can provide an environment in which others can be happy but ultimately it is up to each of us to define and achieve.
