I Write Poetry

A VOICE IN THE NIGHT

Who can measure the power of that voice in the night
Sound waves that echoed 'til dawn's early light
Beyond the stratosphere past Jupiter, Mars
Soaring past moonbeams, racing the stars
To dare the unknown, to known what we can
Questioning history, probing the mystery, he was...
Radioman!
The Dreamer of Dreamland, through space and through time
King of Insomnia on the Wild Card Line
Questioning, listening, always the best
Doubter, believer, voice of the quest
He sent bright thoughtforms through time and through space
With all those stars glistening
Who knew who was listening
In some far off place
For from the high desert across the night sky
From his radio tower in the Kingdom of Nye
He rode the ionosphere to places unknown
To those like us who are not alone
To those like us who see the stars gleam
And catch the reflections of our wildest dream
Those radio waves are forever in flight
Roaring like a freight train through the dark sacred night
On to infinity and yet never gone
For they're with us forever
Where no darkness can sever
The night from the dawn

Once upon a time he cast his radio spell
It was midnight in the desert, once upon a time
Goodnight...
And Good Morning, Art Bell!

Thank you! I worked to try and put in everything I remembered about the show from the cadence of Art's speech to the bumper music and including many things associated with the show that only true fans would recognize. So glad you enjoyed it!
