I Write Poetry

In the soft emptiness of my midnight solitude
You took me and made me yours.
You laid me bare
You warmed me with such care.
Lit me up with your desire
I laid down before your Fire.

With words you made me save
Myself from what I crave.
Pushing me further, deeper, closer
Still.
Teasing me of my own free will.

Watching me lose control
Of my body, mind and soul.
Feeling my senses come alive,
Before you, beneath you, no where to hide.
As you finally release from me
The flood of longing only you could see.

I close my eyes and I'm there again
Breathing your name
Releasing my pain
Calling for more
Kneeled on the floor.

Please visit me soon
With the light of the moon
And the shadow of day
Always serving, I will stay.

Most of my poems/stories are on my last couple of pages, there are recent ones scattered through too...

@Listening80: I know that poetry purists have certain rules that they say makes a poem a poem, and it has little or nothing to do with rhyme or rhythm; but I've never really GOT what they're talking about.

I read a poem like yours, and I'm moved right to the heart, then I try reading something somebody tries telling me is an example of perfect poetry, and it leaves me cold. I tell them I'd rather be moved to tears by bad poetry than left cold by perfection.

Thanks for moving me.

Thank you. It is not my usual genre of poetry...

I'm experimenting with pleasure.
