I Am Tired of America

If you think this country is bad, you need to start visiting other countries. See what socialism has done to Venezuela, or what statist policies have done in Europe, never mind third world countries. You'll change your tune instantly... unless your are deliberately, willfully, dishonest and ignorant. Not only is life good here in America, but its justice systems, its security, and most importantly its opportunities are incredible. There is a reason why immigration is massive in the direction of the US. Even Europe, as great as it is, has a net negative in migration to the US, largely because of the expanded opportunity here that doesn't exist in their less open economies.

Because they have a higher crime rate. I personally think that's caused by failing to access educational opportunities, combined with the collapse of inner city families, but I'm not a social scientist so I don't claim expertise in that area.
But if the evidence shows a higher crime rate, that doesn't imply an unfair justice system, but rather a social problem.

Have you travelled the world extensively or have you read the letters of American soldiers that have watched their comrades be blown up while trying to show compassion to children in wartime. I generally am an inclusive individual and I try to like people until they prove they can't be trusted. Here is the thing though I have traveled extensively because of my job and my personal preferences. Did myself and co-workers do anything to provoke middle eastern men to urinate in containers and along the ground and then throw this at us? No, we were very respectful of customs and took classes prior to going to insure we knew them. Were they upset merely that we were American. Yes, because that was their threatening comments to our "guards/escorts." Did the soldiers in the European country not long ago, do anything to deserve being shot and killed merely because he was in his uniform? Now I could lump all these things together and say, "wow, all these people hate me because I'm American" but then I would be like all the rest and not see the big picture. There are most certainly persons that hate all Americans and would never give us a chance but most of us really do appreciate the freedoms we have and when we have to leave our country we want to come home. Those that do not appreciate our country as it is could take steps to help improve it... Start by volunteering in your community, run for a political office, go out and vote, or maybe find a combat soldier and sit and listen to him/her tell you what he did for your right to criticize HIS/HER country, but if all we do is sit at home in our butt nothing will change.

Unfortunately, minority politicians generally fail to address that main reason. It's easier for them to play the "racism" card (but it's also more destructive and less helpful).
SW-User
Coolest - while proximity is certainly a factor, that doesn't explain Asian, African, and European immigration (and attempted) immigration at high levels. Studies show consistently the massive numbers of people who want to come here, and their reasons are consistently about opportunity and to escape oppression.

I feel very fortunate to be American.
ifoundyourdiary · 46-50, F
Well that's funny .....I have lots of UK friends...being I was engaged to a Brit from Newberry Banks Berkshire....and they and all their friends and friends friends and their children and parents and siblings and friends with then loved and welcome me...and would give their eyetooth to come to America! So I think you're full of hot air
ifoundyourdiary · 46-50, F
Haha. What a question, Loretta. Simple math. They are known for their gang activities and crime. A lot of factors really. A lot of Black people are born in poor homes and no birth control . Kids are pretty much made to fend on their own if the Mother is working non-stop to put food on the table. And the cycle continues.
In the Hispanic area, kids are taught to stick up for their own and become bullies and gang members.....
In the traditional Caucasian American home, most kids are given too much, too soon, and don't appreciate life as our grandparents intended us to. They had to work for every cent and determine their kids won't ....and while a lot of these ungrateful kids go the way of the USA court system, they're still by far, outnumbered by the minority....and there's also more Caucasian than any other nationality in America!
Hope this helps explains, Loretta. 😏

Bullcrap, Hugs. That's just a sorry excuse by racial grievance mongers. I will agree that having money gets you a better legal defense or response, and that's not always fair. But the justice system is more than fair to non-whites.
hunkalove · 61-69, M
Just because other countries are worse doesn't make the U S and A good. There are plenty of better places. I wish I could afford to move, even just to Canada.
Fungirlmmm · 51-55, F
I thought the same thing diary. They actually made me put a big purple x on the wrong leg when I had my surgery. Ugh he could have been, anyone having that procedure.
Chained8Love · 51-55, F
@hunkalove-That's not true. England for one loves Americans. Instead of complaining just leave. One Nation Under God.
ifoundyourdiary · 46-50, F
Bullship! You have no idea how lucky you are! If you wanna condemn your own country then adios!! and Stay there!
novembermoon · 51-55
Dear Cierzo, Uncle Sam needs to drink less. Also, he needs to realise that other people like Mr Bobbie Bear has his own set of problems at home. Everyone is at the bar to have a beer and relieve some stress for the day. No need for yelling, really. It is not a match to see whose problem is the biggest or who has the biggest voice. Live and let live. And don't try to impose. If everyone has basic respect for each other's differences, the town would be more peaceful.
ifoundyourdiary · 46-50, F
Absolutely!! We are the most blessed people in the whole wide world to have Been born here!!

I'm not, I love this country. That's the point of my post... to contradict this ridiculous group.

Really dude? Hates America?... you obviously don't know enough people.
Jonathan · 31-35, M
I keep hearing that. People were leaving when Obama was elected, but they're still here.
Cierzo · M
Sam is a hard worker. He cares about his wife and children. He works harder and cares more than other parents do. But sometimes when Sam goes to a bar he drinks too much and gets involved in fights. And it is a pity that people in his town know him as violent Sam and do not realise his good qualities. Sam is not a bad man at all, he has a problem he should treat, and meanwwhile he should refrain from boozing.
berangere · 80-89, F
But sadly, massive immigration could have a negative impact on America in the long run.
Jonathan · 31-35, M
The short answer is that they commit more crimes. Call me racist.

Well he wasn't my first choice, but yeah... Trump before Hillary.

Hunka: Canada is a great country. But it's a much smaller population base, and thus solutions are not the same as in America. It's an open border... you can leave.
As for the USA. It's good on its own merits, regardless of comparisons.
SW-User
Fungirlmm... that's a responsible answer. You will be reported immediately to the Thought Police!. Under no circumstances are responsible, thoughtful responses to be allowed. Only extreme points of views are permitted. Revisit your response...
... LOL.
UncleJlovesbrazil · 61-69, M
Me too. That is just why I will be defecting from this far-from-God nation and returning to the land where I grew up. My parents were missionaries in Brazil for over 40 years. God honored my dad's desire to give his whole life in service and that request was granted him in 1991. I saw his grave for the first time just last month! I was not sad, since he is far better off than we are. I am content that my dad received his long time earthly wish, to "die with his boots on!"
Yes, God HAS blessed America only it has strayed far from the godly principles upon which it was founded 250 years ago! Instead of saying, "God Bless America," we should be saying, "God SAVE America (in His mercy)!"

It depends on the state, who have the right to develop their own voting laws. Frankly, it's a reaction to a lot of election fraud, voting by noncitizens, or double voting.
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
@ Djce45 and @ hunkalove: I think both of you are wrong. I am no American and I don´t live in the country, but I know, that most of Non-Americans round your state don´t hate you. I mean by that, they don´t hate your nation. But many, many people in other states in this world are not content and not agree at all with the politics of USA. And I think there´s a big different between "hate USA" generally or just not "being agree with the politics."
About myself I just can say that my BEST penpal is from USA. So I am far away from hating Americans.
I also have my opinion about politics in USA, but I won´t speak about that in public. :-)
Jonathan · 31-35, M
Some people live in bubbles. They believe only what their media tells them, and their education regarding other countries stems no further than the Chinese restaurant down the road.

That actually IS terrifying!! Omg.....you could bee one of those victims that go in to get their right leg amputated but they cut off the left one. Then what????
Chained8Love · 51-55, F
@Mesmerised-I like your idea. It's the least we can do for the ungrateful people living in UK and US. But we can't fix stupid.
Jenna88 · F
@fungirl Ever since I was 18 I had to show a photo ID to vote and I'm in the US. That's strange you didn't.
Adaydreambeliever · 56-60, F
Oh go on then .. i feel like a debate :P I would argue that UK is not included in that... we have massive immigration so we must be pretty popular... i am not convinced either that there is net migration from europe to US as much of the EU has massive immigration problems.. and arguably some are escaping that?
Oh and if that werent enough.. i am a massive fan of liberalism.. if not socialism... I need to go look up socialism to see if i agree or disagree :P Communism doesnt work tho!
Messy74 · 46-50, F
I like America though only visited once, love the warmth of the climate & the people. Had a great time : )
beckyromero · 36-40, F
@Mesmerised
You said, "Citizens of both the UK and the U.S. should be very grateful for all the freedoms, rights and priveliges that so many of us take for granted."

"GRATEFUL?" Grateful to who?

To the servicemen and servicewoman who have made GREAT sacrifices for us, I am VERY grateful.

But I don't feel I should be "grateful" to President Obama or to that bumbling group of imbeciles called the U.S. Congress.
Chained8Love · 51-55, F
@Coolestcat- Stop watching European Vacation! Lol. You have no idea!
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
@ Djce45: If you say that the justice system is more than fair to non-Whites I wonder why so much more coloured people are arrested than white people. I am no American and I don´t know USA too much and I have never lived there. So I can´t say that USA is better or not better than other countries. I just wonder why so very much more non-Whites are arrested there than Whites ones. Do you know an answer?
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
@ifoundyourdiary: Indeed! This explanation is too simple. Thank you for explaining.
ifoundyourdiary · 46-50, F
Absolutely right! People who criticize should just leave
Chained8Love · 51-55, F
@Cookestcat-hope the British don't hold us responsible for you.

America is a great country..it's a pity it's ran by fools
Jonathan · 31-35, M
Do you remember how everyone thought George Zimmerman was white?
SW-User
berangere- Agreed. It's a possibility... just needs to be controlled.
Jonathan · 31-35, M
We need to find out what Sam's underlying issue is.
SW-User
Actually, the UK does send more people to the US than vice versa, but overall, the UK is a net importer of migrants, and for obvious reasons - freedom and opportunity and standard of living.
As for the net migration from Europe to the US, this is true even if one counts only EU citizens, rather than refugees passing by.
Fungirlmmm · 51-55, F
@Mes, Until this year you only had to state your name and physical address to vote, but there was a change and starting this year you have to provide a legal form of picture ID. It was weird voting in the primaries and you walk up and your aunt asks you to see a picture id.
Chained8Love · 51-55, F
That was said perfectly!!! Amen
Chained8Love · 51-55, F
If you don't like it here then leave.

Thank you. I do as well.
