I Am British

Am reading Cousins' Wars now. (Am an American, not a Britisher but my dad's side is mostly British and German, and Irish.) The key thesis here is that those who were for the parliamentairan and puritan cause in the English Civil War in the 1640's were for the independence of the 13 Colonies and then abolitionists and for the Union in the American Civil War. On the other hand, those who were royalists in the English CW, were generally loyalists in the American Revolution, and for the confederacy and supporters of slavery in the American CW. Note this book is 707 pages and the author is Kevin Phillips.
