I Like a Good Quote

"There never was a good knife made of bad steel" - Thomas Edison (or maybe Nikola Tesla, and Edison just stole it!)

I know. That is why I love it as a quote. It works both literally and metaphorically

Psikeo. I was only half serious. I have the gist of what it means. But I am reluctant to write off what is considered 'bad' before giving it a fair try. The good knife and steel can be projected to many things, esp people.

psikeo,Yeah, I agree with you about Edison. Nikola Tesla was a true genius.

@Aidolove, I believe that this is a metaphor for anything. You can't make a good (insert final product) with bad (insert starting material)

Apparently it was actually Benjamin Franklin who said it-at least thats what google says.

@comfi1, I do believe you are correct. Bollocks. However, I stand by my aside :P

I wonder if this is the case of a bad workman blaming his tools. :)

I love anything that makes me think, esp out of the box.

Nice aside, lol.
