I Battle Self-hatred, Anxiety, And Depression

In my experience, the people with the most skewed view of depression are the people who've lived with it for a long time. So many of them twist their self stories into pretzels - focusing only on the negative while actively fighting to push away the positive. Everything they're saying is true - but it's not the *whole* truth.

Although that is true, it depends. Biologically derived depression is a different story where the person has a physical misappropriation of essential chemicals LEADING to the difficulty in enjoying the positives. What you are saying is true for people who develop it by train of thought

You're right that it's a lot more true for people who's depression comes mostly or entirely from nurture rather than nature. But I would argue that a biological predisposition to depression doesn't completely (or even mostly) destroy a person's ability to positively impact their depression by recognizing the holes in their self-stories.

How do I always miss your posts? This would be a fun discussion sometime...

Ugh, aside from talking to SJW's, some of the least fun discussions I've had on here/EP have been on this subject. But I don't imagine you'd be the kind of brick wall that most of them have been (everyone is, in areas where their view is skewed), so yeah, if you ever want to discuss it, feel free to toss your views out there, either here, or in our ongoing pm.

@BlueDiver: Well, now that you make it sound SO enticing, I'll have to get right on that. 😜
