I Believe In Happiness

I also believe that we live our lives mostly by choice. There are some things we experience which are beyond our control leaving us no choice in the events or the suffering we have to face. Whatever the case might, it all still comes down to a choice. It's hard to choose to be happy when all you feel is sad, lonely hurt or broken. I found it was easier for me to let the wounds bleed then you pull yourself together and chose to keep yourself happy. Happiness for me can never be found in material things. No person on earth should be responsible to make me happy if I could not do it for myself. If you're unhappy then make a choice and change the things that hinder your happiness.
Sort of like when it's supper time and you're given chopped liver while others are enjoying that grade A Angus.

Smh.

A very hard truth.
I'm not sure how I can change the bouts of depression that come, besides medicating myself to total numbness. But I've always envied those who can 'think' their way to happiness. 🙂

Like I've mentioned above there are situations that we have no control over. But will you let depression take over full control? I've been depressed too, so this is not be speaking without full knowledge.
@Lifeafterlove: I mentioned my options above, too---medication to the point of numbness. Clinical depression is not something one can just "snap out" of. I've been sad and depressed for specific reasons, but that I can work with. It's the ongoing biological bouts that threaten to defeat me.
