I Have Something to Say

I still feel like I'm doing something bad when I purchase alcohol. I look like a kid so I don't look like I belong in that section of the store. I'm not even new to drinking and I feel like I'm committing a crime. Just going to that section takes a lot of inner cheerleading in my mind to go.

I'm just overthinking things but my brain is stubborn and wont let me relax. :3

I have that same problem. Like the people look a my ID like 25 times before they ring me up cause I still look like I'm 16 years old. Same thing with cigarettes. I don't ever really feel comfortable even though i am of legal age to purchase alcohol. I send someone else to get it for me majority of the time.

I wish I could send someone to get it for me! But I'm not lucky in knowing anyone who'd do it 😅 So I have to brave it all by myself!

I always looked old for my age.. the first time I bought, I was disappointed that the clerk didn't check.. he rang up, I paid, he handed it over, I said 'you didn't even check my ID!' and he kinda freaks out. 'let me see your id!'. I hand it over... and he looks at me like I'm an idiot. 'you're over 21.' 'yes, I just wanted to make sure you knew.'

I am getting over feeling that way myself. I am not very tall myself and always have to be carded even though I have also drank before too. I see others not carded who are simply taller than me. I am no longer caring, though, and just going to drink when I feel like it.

Lucky for you you don't have the government liquor stores we had when I was younger. Even senior citizens hated going there because the clerks made them feel so guilty.

I'm the same way. I'm in my forties and still make my husband buy the beer. Ha
